I need help!

From Steve's Video....It should be totally obvious but I just can't make out what that name on the side of the large american convertible is, and I have tried and duck duck go-ed plenty. Like I say...I need Help!

It gets bigger if you click on it once, even bigger if you do it twice!

Since the car is a 55/6/7 Mercury Montclair convertible I'd say its highly likely that the word is Montclair, but I can't read it either!! :-D

Top quality as ever Mick. Well done. Top of the head job or a bit of duck duck go-ing from yourself?

I think I had too much of a Chevrolet BelAir on my mind to delve over into Mercury listings! It was so long looking I even strayed over towards a Lincoln of some description.

I thought it was a Mercury because of the spare and DDG did the rest!! I confirmed it at http://www.classiccardatabase.com/55Mercury.php
which by coincidence appear to be featuring the model at the moment - spooky!! :-D
PS It seems it was available with inboard or outboard spare mounting as you can find pics of both. 8-)

Knowing what you told me Mick did help me find this still pic of it. It must be an absolutely massive event if this gallery is anything to go by. It goes on forever with the cars attending the 2017 event in Steves video. I got fed up of paging down to try to find "our car" so in the end resorted to the find on this page tool and put in Mercury.
Full gallery...immense!

Described as....Mercury Montclair Convertible Automatic 5.4 V8 213hp 1956

That is one huge lineup! I'm showing at Knebworth Classic Car show over the weekend so I'll keep a general eye out for interesting cars, and maybe post some up next week. As I'm there both days I hope to come across some other members tho I am showing a japanese car of mine, so I doubt anyone will find me :-({|=

Quote function seems to be broken.

The Lysekil procession is just one of many. Swedes are quite fond of American cars.

Two great vids there guys. Thanks for the KR200 with trailer Steve, immense!! I'll watch the rest of that tomorrow. My daughter lived in Gothanberg for 6 months and didn't tell me a thing about the classic car scene there!! If she ever comes back to the uk i'll have words!! I'm off to the sack now, night all!

Out and about today, this one is from a few years ago
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 23 Sep 2016, 22:10 This one gives it away, not sure of the exact "Model" but it was definitely one of the last throes of the Matchless brand, as it got taken over and exterminated under Norton-Villiers.

And a couple more bikes. Perfect summer day activity...pootle around the country side park up and have a coffee at a nice cafe...and how appropriate here is a "Cafe pootler" from Yamaha. Interesting enough to photograph I think it is a 1994 Yamaha SRV250.
