We have an error on a 1.6 HDi 2007 207 that warns of a risk of the DPF blocking. PP2000 gives 1 error of P1351 relating to the glow plug circuit and I understand the glow plugs are used in manner I won't pretend to understand fully to clean the DPF
Now I know the glow plugs have been buried down the back of this engine and so I am hoping it is the relay not the plugs. Where is the relay hiding on the 207 and where is the best test point to see if it is outputting 12V to the glow plugs?
Thanks

Re: DPF at risk of blocking
How many miles has it done? Usually between 120 and 140k the car decides the DPF is full of ash and pops this message up. The glow plug error comes as standard, and is not really anything to worry about! You can:
Replace the DPF - which is what the dealer would do, at vast cost
Remove the DPF and get it cleaned by one of the specialists
Remove the DPF and clean it with one of the proprietary agents
Remove the DPF and jet wash it
Check that the differential pressure is not too high, and the DPF is still regenerating, then tell the car you've changed it, and keep driving, monitoring from time to time that the DPF is still OK pressure wise.
I know which I'd do (did!), and it didn't involve any spanners.... worst case is that it becomes too blocked in the future, and you have to have it out anyway and clean / replace it (there are now aftermarket replacements that are not outrageous)

Re: DPF at risk of blocking
Thanks Richard.
The car has 150k so I guess it is reaching that age. The annoying think is I had the DPF off a few months back doing a turbo job and I know on the little 207 it doesn't come out top or bottom without the bumper off and the rad pack pulled forward to make room.
Just a quick pointer if you have a moment, where do I reset the DPF in PP2000?
Thanks again.

Re: DPF at risk of blocking
Run a Global Test, on completion, select the Engine ECU (Bosch in your case), confirm, then from the next menu, select Repair or Pack Repair, and you should have the Replacement Menu option - it should be in there. Once you've done this operation, you should also top up and reset the additive counter at the same time if you have replaced / cleaned the DPF.

Re: DPF at risk of blocking
No need to reset the additive Marc, unless it's empty. The ECU tracks ash in the DPF and additive level separately. It will of course report zero ash to start with.

Yes, I think Peter's already ordered the additive and is going to do that anyway.
