Spinoff from a Samantha Fish video - recommendation and we all know what they are usually like.
I wasn't expecting this:

Seven year old Norwegian girl. There is an interesting reason she is barefoot :)
Give her a minute to get into her stride.

Phone ap identifies tune

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

I’ve been enjoying my instrumental singles phase, and up pops another to be identified as a bit of instrumental music, very familiar but which I couldn’t find. Yes there was a bit of trumpet so down the herb alpert Bert Kaempfert route with no success.

Resorted to the phone app Shazam to come up with the answer

Number one twice, within a few weeks, by different artists in 1955, and based on a 1950 French song.

It was this, a tune I am sure many will know or recognise
Spoiler: show

Not an instrumental, but probably the finest performance ever with an empty tube of Pringles once he puts the tambourine down :-D

I just have to share this clip of Martin Molin showing off his talents, playing (among other things) the harp and saw.

Here is an earlier clip of him with his band playing a couple of tunes with eclectic instrumentation. When did you last hear a song with a whistling 'lead'? The second tune features a typewriter in the percussion.

I've really enjoyed some of the other Sergio Mendes et al tracks that came up after playing that...

Many are covers of well known songs given the treatment but I love the girls voices.

This is a decent enough job of "Fool on the hill"

(liked one of the comments...."Sexy and sophisticated. Makes the thought of the likes of Beyonce bouncing around on stage comical and absurd.")

Plenty to discover...I like them all, they even tackle "Wichita Lineman".

"Night and Day" took my interest because the visuals are a montage supplied by "Melegorm". He used to have a youtube channel with some brilliant montages on Steely Dan tracks, but now sadly removed.

Re: P.E.Jukebox North American Indian Theme

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

from this link on the "A collection of interesting/awful campers" thread let us try for 10 tracks on a North American Indian theme.

If we dont get 10 then we are not trying......

I'll start off with the obvious

Number 1 North American Indian theme Apache by the Shadows
