Diagbox parameter meaning

Post by jsoap »

Hi,

looking at the Diagbox parameter readout for ECU DCM3.5_BR2 there is a parameter for each cyclinder,
"Difference in engine speed on engine cylinder 1" etc.., the description is "Difference between 2 current engine speeds", and it's measured in RPM
The xml logfiles call this "MP_ECART_REGIME_MOTEUR_CYLINDRE_MOTEUR_1" etc

Just curious as to what this can be.

If the cylinders are producing unequal power, the flywheel will spin faster or slower through each quadrant, and the ECU measures this.

Thanks, that makes sense.
Do you think that it would it be reasonable to expect that, over a period of time, adding together all of the measured differences, should produce roughly the same result for each cylinder?
