Re: Another 206 non starter!
DAM may be the Peugeot equivalent of the Citroen RPO. Take a look at the labels around the driver door. There may be one with 7 digits (5 numbers, 2 letters), and that MIGHT be the DAM. On a Citroen (such as my old C5) the number was 10041CJ.

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Ok thanks, rain stopped play again.
On this 2007 model the throttle position sensor is built into the throttle body..... so its going to be £150 so i want to be sure thats the correct thing to do based on the pp2000 ecu read?

Re: Another 206 non starter!
A long shot but if the sensor is faulty them perhaps the buzzing noise you hear is the stepper motor hunting.

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Yeah, that would make sense, although I think it was Wheeler who says that noise isn’t unusual.
As say if the answer. Is to change the throttle body then so be it.....but i dont want to go down the wrong path again

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Your DAM is your build number, pop your VIN up if you want to know what it is, plus it will help me identify the engine ECU for a proper interpretation of the fault code.

Ok, so your DAM number is: 11253Markdas wrote: 20 Jul 2019, 13:05 Ok, my parcel is here, plugged it all in......
Entered the VIN number but PP2000 option was asking for a DAM? No idea what that is?
So i used Diabox option.....P0122 throttle position sensor?
So is that it? I cant see how to run anymore checks of other systems?
Am I missing something?
Cheers
Mark
Here's the fault code explained - though I'm not sure about 'deactivation of the driver'
| Fault code | P0122 |
| After sales description of the fault code | Motorised butterfly track 1 signal fault: Open circuit; Short circuit to earth |
| Description of the diagnostics | Wire 1 throttle position signal: The voltage of the butterfly position signal is above a threshold |
| Conditions of activation of the diagnostics | - |
| Conditions of disappearance of the fault | - |
| Down-grade modes if fault present |
|
| Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning message | - |
|
|
| Suspect areas |

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Jeez there is a lot there! So do you think im safe to assume that a new throttle body will solve the problem?
Or could this still be the wiring to the throttle?
Thanks for the info....i’ll try again with pp2000 and the DAM

Re: Another 206 non starter!
That's the problem - a faulty wire / pin or the unit itself...
There could be 2 types of system fitted to your vehicle - either the electronic accelerator pedal potentiometer or the mechanical cable from the accelerator to the throttle assembly in the engine bay.

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Its electronic, ive removed and cleaned it, there is no throttle cable...
Will pp2000 diagnose things further or is that it?

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Should i try and check at least continuity for each wire that goes to the throttle body?

Re: Another 206 non starter!
If you have the option to choose PP2000 or Diagbox, try diagbox. Run a Global Test and then go into the injection ECU, then select parameters and there should be some tests you can select. Some should be able to detect the pedal movement as you operate the accelerator - but have a look and see what is there.

Re: Another 206 non starter!
It asked which ecu to test but only had 1 option (10)
I didnt see anything about a global test?
I’ll go have another look.
I was in Diagbox. Seemed to have read ecu, fault codes, clear fault codes and parameters

Re: Another 206 non starter!
Ok...did a global test and lots of things going on!
Not sure how to attach a pic?
BSI - no faults
Multi func display - faults present
Inst panel - faults
Airbag - faults
Switch module comm 2000 - no faults
Radio - no faults
Engine ecu - faults
Abs - faults
