Re: P.E.Jukebox-back to normal!

In Celebration of the re-run of "A303 Highway to the Sun" here's Kula Shaker with the track used at the end of the documentary. Probably the only british trunk road ever to feature on a number one album....

P.E.Jukebox-Covers better than original

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

for example ......what is your favourite version of "The First Cut is the Deepest" ?
Its one of those songs where the covers are better than the original.

It is indeed. His recording is painful, unlike much of his material. Doesn't he look young there!

I thought you might have picked out Sheryl Crow Steve. Pleasant enough but a bit too much cavorting and posing for my liking!

Not keen on that Neil, I prefer singers over shouters. :-D
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Gibbo, I presume you mean Graham Parker. Sheryl is quite melodic to my ears.
I’ll spare you GP’s version of the Jackson Five I want you back although I like that too
Spoiler: show
Two for one...the original with Pavarotti doing his best to join in

We dont want to jump too much on the moon bandwagon at the Pickled Egg do we? We've had a little dabble into space but this cropped up as a trivia quiz item on Radio Newcastle this morning....

Who/What won "Best Song Musically and Lyrically" at the 37th Ivor Novello Awards held May 1992 (but probably for year 1991)
Spoiler: show
Not my own personal taste but topical-ish :) Has a bit of trumpet in it.
10 points for working it out without the spoiler reveal

"Fly Me To The Moon" by - somebody.
Or "Moon River" by somebody else, probably.
