Bio diesel

On a recent holiday in France all the diesel pumps are marked B7, 7% bio added.
Just recently my local Esso garage is now displaying B7
Is this likely to give problems with filters.
I have read many differing reports on Bio and clogged filters.
Does anyone have any practical experience with Bio diesel?
Your comments would be appreciated.

I ran my C5 (2.0HDi) on bio for six months - it was made on the estate where I worked for the fleet of the company that made it and had the advantage of being very cheap (78p/L).

It was fine, no problems whatsoever and the advantage that the exhaust smelled positively nice, not like a chip shop but a bit like Isopropanol.
I did change the fuel filter more frequently just in case but it wasn't necessary

Unfortunately they stopped selling it, just kept it for their fleet.

All Citroen and Peugeot models introduced after 1 January 2000 are already compatible with B7 Diesel, as are all DS models. Any models released prior to this date are not compatible with B7.

All diesel here is now B7; think it has been for some time.
No running issues at all, and good performance if you use leading brands.
Even better with a dash of Millers/Wynns/3CV

- That's from PSA direct. Of curse highly unlikely you are going to damage your vehicle with a few tankfuls if you do use it on an older car - as the results are likely to be cumulative over a period of time. At least you have the official position.

Good thing I'm using veg oil then, no B7 for me

As I recall, bio-diesel starts off as veggie.

The stuff I used was made from used veg oil from local chipshops and pizza places.

Eventually there were too many collecting it and the chipshops started charging for it so it became hard to get and uneconomical, so the biomaker started using virgin rapeseed oil. Slightly more expensive but a cleaner easier material to work with so it just about broke even.

Biodiesel is a con if the fertilisers used are made from petrochemical stock.
