Stereo Replacement C5 2006

Post by Calmar »

Hi there.

I have mounted an aftermarket stereo made by pioneer.
It works fine since I’ve also connected the steering-wheel adapter (for volume, source, skip track) as well as the adapter for the parking-radar.

However, the trip-computer and the clock isn’t working properly.
My question is if there is any way to program the computer to show the trip-computer and the clock by default via obd2, a laptop and software?
(I don’t need to access the other features like climate-control etc.)

I own a obd2 wi-fi reader and thinking of geting the software psacom.

Regards/ Marcus

Unfortunately not, that’s the price you have to pay for fitting an aftermarket stereo. You have basically disabled access to functions like configuration of the computer.

The head unit is more than a radio. It contains an ECU that provides some vehicle information and access to the configuration of date, time and configuration of certain options like rear wash on reverse, door locking, child locking, etc.

Ok, thanks a lot Marc.
I enjoy the handsfree so I have to accept the fact that the trip-computer only will show momentarly when fliping between consumptions.

You could’ve got an aftermarket solution, such as an independent hands-free Bluetooth unit. This would’ve left the head unit intact.
