I am seeking a wiring diagram specific to my vehicle a 2.00 2002 Belingo van : Vin: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] with ABS and AC.
The specific problem is that my mechanic has removed a non functioning ABS together with all the associated bits. However we now have a permanent handbrake/brakefluid warning light which neither my mechanic or his auto electrician can eliminate. He has suggested that a Vin specific wiring diagram might help. Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Hi and welcome.
The ABS system is integral to the braking system - I assume you are going to be replacing it?

Re: Wiring Diagram Berlingo VIN specific
One of the problems is that a vehicle that was factory fitted with ABS is not considered roadworthy if the ABS is subsequently disabled or removed, and should not pass an MOT test.
On a more practical level, vehicles designed with ABS may not have the correct front/rear brake balance, or be fitted with a mechanical compensator to redistribute the braking force according to load, and may become unsafe under some loading and road conditions.
You may well have legal redress against the mechanic who has removed the system, rendering your car as practically useless and only of scrap value.

Exactly my point too. ABS or ABS with ESP is a safety feature and if it is removed you have a non road legal vehicle as you have effectively crippled the safety system which will void any insurance you have.

Re: Wiring Diagram Berlingo VIN specific
Whilst I don't advocate it, and the forum certainly can't encourage it, removal of ABS from a vehicle of this age is not an MOT fail:
Having said that, it is BSI equipped, and I rather suspect that removing the ABS has confused the BSI and the putting the light out will be no simple matter, and may not even be possible unless the BSI is frigged.
VIN shows this Berlingo does have a rear brake force compensator so it's not too likely for the rear to try and come round and meet the front!MOT Manual wrote: If the ABS has been intentionally rendered inoperative, the whole system must be removed. This doesn’t apply to sensor rings or other ABS components which are an integral part of another component, such as a brake disc or drive shaft.
It's not permissible to remove or disable the ABS from a vehicle first used on or after 1 January 2010.

I stand corrected. Sorry for causing confusion.

But I suspect the insurance issue will still stand - so you'll need to notify them and get the cheque book ready.
