Could you send a link to the amazon unit you bought and I’ll gave a look. It’s still a good price so I might take a chance. That’s 17 months I’ve had my constantly running at a low speed. I just realised after reading this thread a checking it out that I could switch it off lol.

Glad it's all now working. If you don't count your time it wasn't too expensive in the end.

Yes, good job - and I'll be referring people to this thread the next time this comes up - as I said earlier about aftermarket copies, the Chinese junk is infiltrating everything.

Mine (older C5) is using a Chinese junk one that has outlasted OEM ones. Ten quid including postage and sent from China

Just your luck. I have 2 eBay ones at £25 each. Both don’t work. Hoping this one will work. If anyone wants the eBay ones they are welcome I don’t know if they’ll work in another car.

I think it's also a matter of 'they look the same part, so we'll say they are compatible...' So for earlier C5 they may suffice, but unlikely to cut the mustard on later vehicles with the more involved climate systems.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 mk3 climate control heater fan fault
Well that's that problem sorted. Heater now works as normal, up and down the settings, full blast at defrost setting. The link for this product should be on a sticky, it would have saved me £50 and a lot of headaches. 18 month of the blower on low is now over. Thanks to all.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 mk3 climate control heater fan fault
I am going to try this thread to see if anyone reads them still before starting a fresh one.
my situation sounds very similar but just different enough to raise questions.
2013 C5 X7 wagon
Cabin fan operates at full speed, can not turn off, can not adjust speed.
before reading posts I assumed it was the Blower resister (yes I know its not actually a resistor). Like many before me, I purchase a Chinese knock off , the first one was for an earlier model the second one operates exactly the same as the original - no control - full speed
Facing AU $350+ for an OEM unit or AU $150 for a "reputable" aftermarket one, i decided to probe the wires to see if i can find a variable voltage signal coming from the interface.
I probed the 4 wires (plug disconnected), Red and black show a constant 14v, green/yellow appears to be earth, and the little yellow wire shows 7v. none of them appear to change when the dash controls are adjusted.
I can find no wire that changes voltage when i adjust the fan speed, even all the way down to off.
Is my dash control unit busted or am I testing this wrong?
also, My OBD2 reader displays no errors
