2000 Dispatch 1.9TD running a little hot - close to 90°

Post by kenbw2 »

I have two Dispatches - one a 1.9D DW8 and one a 1.9TD XUD9. I've also had two 1.9TD XUD9 Synergie/806.

My 1.9TD Dispatch seems to run consistently hotter than the DW8 one, and I don't seem to remember the Synergie/806 running as hot as the Dispatch.

It's not hugely warmer, but it's noticeable. I was driving along the M65 with the temp gauge at 85-90 (the DW8 would be at 80), stopped at the services and by the time I'd been through the McDonalds drive through, the temp was above 90 and the fan was going. It'd take 10+ minutes for the DW8 to get to this.

I know turbos run hotter, but given that this is the one weakness of the XUD9 I thought I'd check what I can do to help with this. Should I even be worried?

I've already flushed the coolant and replaced the thermostat, with no change.
