2000 Synergie 2l HDI subframe

Post by tynxuk »

I found a similar old thread but thought it best to start my own, I've owned this car 8 years now and this is the first time she's let me down. I noticed she kangeroo'd in first on sunday and growled through other gears so went to take her to my local garage monday but didn't make it! Whilst changing from 2nd to 3rd it seemed to jump out of gear then refused to get into any gear  diagnosis was flywheel and clutch so decided I would get these done but on removal of the subframe it has been discovered that it's dangerously rotten. Looks like a new subframe isn't an option and these are like hens teeth so hoping some knowledgeable person can confirm other makes and model vehicles that will have the same subframe (I'm guessing pug 806, partner, Citroen Dispatch, Berlingo, Fiat Ulysse and scudo) TIA

Post up the VIN and we can get the part number and cross check it with PSA models.

Maybe get some help here: https://www.amcarparts.co.uk/part/fron ... n/Synergie

Not a recommendation for the company but they have a box to put in your registration number that might help to find the correct part.

If the subframe is the same for RHD and LHD vehicles (which may be a big IF), you might have more luck sourcing one from a part of Europe where they don't rust.

That part no only comes back against Synergie up to RP8689 with 2.0 HDI, and also Dispatch. 806 / 807 has a different part number, but I don't know how different it is. There's nothing listed to suggest it's RH or LH drive specific, so Mike's idea of trying to source one from France or Spain might be a good one.

thanks for looking, I am quite short on time as it's stuck at the garage so need to decide by monday :? so a 2000 2.0 hdi dispatch sub frame should definitely fit?

Take the old one to a decent metalworker (Look in the local industrial estates, there's almost one.) and have it rebuilt.

Any idea on the cost of doing this? at the moment I'm looking at a £700 bill for the clutch and flywheel so don't really want to spend much more.
