Peter

There is a new series (Monday, More 4, 21:00), with a Citroen DS in the near future. They had a Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi rally car recently (although it was no longer a GTi as the injector system had been replaced (prior to Car SOS getting involved) with carbs for better performance).

Yes, saw it. I friend on mine in Holland restored one many years ago. We went down to our local scrap yard near Bridport and he found a radiator grill for it!!

Well its nice to know I know far more about popular music than the finest brains of Oxford and Bristol tonight.

An American captaining the team and the four of them between them couldn't identify Glen Campbell as the singer of Wichita Lineman. !:-D

They were all too young Neil. :) I got caught out with the times, switched on just before eight expecting to get the start of Only Connect and got just the end.

Me too gibbo, but through the "magic" of the Amazon Firestick digitally rewound it and watched from the start!

Two very good teams on only connect, how they came up with some of the connections was outstanding.

Well this weeks UC again had me outperform the assembled brainpower from the UK's finest universities (on the music questions anyway!)

Two Americans on the team the Captain a "patriotic New Yorker" and the other from LA, needed 5 minutes to confer to identify James Brown he of "Godfather of Soul" fame, from one of his most obvious tracks.

To be fair to the captain he is very good, but so much depends on the type of questions asked, and in general they fell nicely for his team and their areas of knowledge.

Matthewsons of classic auction fame, based at the gorgeous Thornton-le-Dale in North Yorkshire are to feature in "Bangers and Cash" on Yesterday TV Channel from April.

Now both on their doorstep and nearby there are some stunning and familiar locations to me, so that interspersed with classic cars, and stories of the people and the cars, they aren't going to have to try that hard to make a program thats going to capture my interest.

I did pose the question on "Whatsthisthen?" of what was Captain Mainwaring's "Staff Car" in the episode "The Captain's Car". Gibbo provided the answer a Rolls Royce 20-25, which also featured on a number of other film/TV shows including "To the Manor Born"

Of course Mainwaring's car had to be camoflaged.

Sought out the episode a classic in its own right. Its currently on youtube and dailymotion in dubious quality
