Yes well done. Had just th e touch of red herring about it with the badge, which in the pic I posted up I do believe is covered up with his own project badge, and for me I thought it was a production electric vehicle, but it’s a conversion, and a first generation conversion at that. So it’s a 2009 Golf Estate.

There isa YouTube channel, with the detail of his journey. Watched one of them when he was in Malaysia, and the car went kaput after a bit of water ingress into the battery boxes. I enjoyed it and will probably selectively watch a couple more. He’s due to complete the trip in Sydney in April.

Quite a trek! I'm mildly amused that I'm so out of touch with moderns as to not recognise the shape of a Golf. (guess you could call it ignorance, but I'll take a more positive view)

Don't be too hard on yourself, given it doesn't look anything like what we understand a Golf to be - although the "face" IS unmistakedly VW!

Well done..yes first one is indeed a Thunderbird which was in the auction sale

and parked up in the Village....the Plymouth (with the story on a chatty notice on the front passenger window), and a price tag of something like £12,000. Military staff car of the 1940's. Caused quite a stir of interest, but the village was full of classic car enthusiasts there for Mathewsons sale I suppose!

The plate info for VXS249 has the DVLA thinking that it is a 1952 ALVIS TA21 which clearly it isn't!

I think you need to stand a blit closer to the camera lens - that reg number is YXS 249, which DVLA has as a 1948 Plymouth of 3.3L :-D
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

Left in for entertainment value!

To quote Captain Mainwaring

"I was wondering who would be the first to spot that!"

and to further continue the theme...
....What was Captain Mainwaring's "Staff Car" in the episode "The Captain's car?"

I need a picture of it for the full 10 points.

It was a Rolls Royce 20-25 Neil and I'd guess there will be plenty of pictures of it online.

This doesn't really belong here but I can't think of a better place to post it.
It originally appeared in my blog but got no response, so obviously need to reach a wider audience because I really am curious as to what it is - & the purpose it serves:-
IMG_2686.jpg
It looks a little odd because uploading the image turns it through 90° - it's actually "standing" on an upturned box.

clues/helpful info:-
it's part of an uprated headlamp wiring loom incorporating 2 relays
as to size, the white bit contains 3 standard spade terminal in a triangular formation
whatever's in the black box is imbedded in resin
Citroens:-

'97 Xantia Exclusive estate [-o<
others:-
Jeep XJ Cherokees x 3 :?
'96 Cadillac Eldorado

there are some similarities with this, but probably only white plastic, spade connectors/ black box.

A 3-terminal relay - that's unusual. Would only be capable of making (or breaking) a Ground connection when energised.
Do like the stated warranty: 'Limited' #-o
