Auto DS5 reset the service light

Post by zipdip »

Hi all been away from the forum for a while now,but back in the fold with my 2013 2.0l hdi DS5
I use a local mechanic to do the servicing,he is a good guy and you know he has done what he says,
he has changed both front disks and pads as I had a vibration under braking and alls well now
and so after 10,000 miles I need a service, thats no problem but just how do you rest the service light
now the manual makes no sense,my car is auto and push start and the manual says turn key to S
position and press trip reset, hope one of you guys can explain how this is done :)

You should just need to
Switch off ignition
Hold this button down:

While holding it down, switch ignition on
It should start counting down on the display
When it gets to '0' release the button and the spanner will go.

Thanks for the reply, maybe I am a bit dense, but I just push the start button to start the car, there is no switch the ignition on,the key is in my pocket, the manual says turn key to S position which I take it to mean that with cars that you need to turn the key through two positions to start the car,so you just turn the key so that all the lights on the dash are on and at the same time push the trip reset button, but I cannot see how that can apply to my car,as I say it must be me .

Ok, so with STOP START, all you need to do is:

Put the key fob into the slot in the dash
DON'T press any of the foot pedals
Hold down this button
reset.PNG
Now press the Stop Start Button once whilst continuing to hold down the reset button until the counter reaches '0'
When finished, to switch off the ignition, just press the STOP START button again.

Thanks Mark well done, amazing how they can forget all about including that in the manual,of course it is very simple once you have it explained,I am enjoying owning this car searched for a while to find a white one with the black and white leather interior, only had two things go wrong a front disk got warped and so replaced both plus the brake pads, and the drivers electric window winder turned itself into a ball of wire, and so my mechanic replaced that for me,I do not hang about but on long runs I get 45 mpg so I can live with that.
