206 FL - fixing airbag ribbon
Hi! Yesterday, I was trying to correct the steering wheel because it was a couple of degrees off. I removed the airbag and unscrewed the wheel. But, because the wheel was really tight on the rod, I yanked it too hard and ripped the airbag plug and the horn plug off the ribbons. Stupid as that was, now I want to try and fix it. I disassembled the plugs and noticed that it may be soldered back. The question is: is it possible? After I solder it, will there be a risk of the airbag going off accidentally during the ride? I know I can buy new ribbons, but I can't afford it at the moment, but I also don't want to drive without a functioning airbag. If need be, I can photograph the damaged ribbons. Any help appreciated!

Absolutely agree ^
Without pictures we can't see exactly what you've done, but the plugs are normally part of control unit inside the steering wheel, so you may need a second hand Comms unit to be safe. I would not recommend soldering - because if you are not extremely careful, you could cause a short on reconnection and trigger the airbag off! Very dangerous.
If you post your VIN here, we can get you the correct part numbers.

Re: 206 FL - fixing airbag ribbon
Honestly, I expected such answers but yesterday I risked it and soldered the plugs back. After reassembling the wheel, I turned on the engine from the passenger seat, just in case. Everything worked fine! I took her for a bumpy ride to see if the soldering job is tight and secure. I thank you guys for your recommendation but as I said, I can't afford to buy new parts.
I'm Polish after all. We'd rather fix things ourselves than buy new stuff or have it repaired by a professional. All that to save some zlotys

Your choice of course, but not recommended when it comes to explosives in safety devices.
Second hand units can be got for a reasonable amount. A 206 driver airbag module - £10 (49 z?otys); a Comms Unit £34 (169 z?otys). What price safety?

I'd sooner forego an airbag rather than risk it going off at some random point that would likely cause a crash.
