Servicing the 2008 Berlingo 1.6Hdi [B9] today and had a bit of a disaster. While changing the air filter I dropped on of the bolts and while attempting to get it I moved the primer pump a bit too far and there was a snapping sound as one of the end fittings broke off the primer pump...
Does anyone know, can you buy just the pump or do you have to buy the pump and all the associated pipework? Part number anyone? [i looked at the pump and it didn't appear to have a number]
Can I use just a generic bellows type primer pump with a Non Return Valve rather than the original if I cannot get one quickly?
Any help appreciated as it is my only vehicle.
Thanks.

Re: Primer Pump URGENT!
It's possibly 1574T5 which costs £122... it comes complete with all the on engine piping from the bulkhead to the filter and fuel pump, including the primer. As Marc says need the VIN to confirm. I can't see why a generic one won't work, although it won't sit down in the rack in the top of the engine like the genuine one.

You can buy one on e-bay considerably cheaper than this: this one!

Re: Primer Pump URGENT!
VIN confirms it's the one I posted above. The primer itself looks like it has pipe clips on it - if you haven't broken the pipe it might be possible to get one from a scrapper - I suspect it is widely used on Cit / Pug cars fitted with the 1.6 HDi engine.

Re: Primer Pump URGENT!
No broken pipes, just literally the plastic joint at the end of the pump. Thanks Richard and Marc for taking the time to reply.
