Before I indulge in the dark arts, I have another go...could it have come from the Fairthorpe stable?

Nope !
If you're going through the A-Z of old-time car manufacturer's, then don't bother going as far as 'B'..... as you'll have gone too far :-D

CSI NewcastleFalcon does it again  =D>
How do you do it ? Ouija board ? Reading the tea leaves ? Sacrifice a goat ?

A bit of a rarity - the Ashley Sportiva from 1962. There's a little bit about them on the web -

"Ashley were manufacturer of body shells and chassis for specials from 1955 to 1962. They also offered a range of products for special builders: radiators, header tanks, lighting sets, steel tubing, sheet aluminium, various suspension parts, water pumps, tires, tubes and wheels. The company also made bonnets and hardtops for other mass-produced sports cars, including the Austin-Healey Sprite and Jaguar E-Type.
Ashley Sportiva:
Debuting in November 1960, it was initially an 1172 with revised front styling. It was made available as a bodyshell or with an Ashley chassis. It could be had as a drophead or a fixed head coupe with two or four seats. Later Sportiva's had a revised rear with boot lid and a longer wheelbase of eight feet to accommodate the new Mark 6 chassis. The fixed head coupe bodyshell retailed for £182."

And there's the trail of a particular 1965 Sportiva on this page :

And the photos I nicked came from this informative page from several years ago :

I wasn't that far away with my second guess. The barely distinguishable additional badge on Bobin's image was the badge of the Fairthorpe Sports Car Club, which also embraces other similar marques :-D. Some of those other marques have also appeared on the FCF , Tornado, and Fairthorpe itself and member saraphee from Thailand lists a Rochdale as one of their cars.

Reminiscent of that scene in Blade Runner (and parodied in Red Dwarf) where Deckard analyses that photograph to extract unseen information from it

If we used the Chinese style calendar that would have been the year of the (plastic) pig. :-D

Everybody was at it, building and selling DIY fibreglass car kits, 1172cc made me think of the old side valve Ford Popular engine.

My friend's daughter had a husband who built one, the first time he let her drive it a wheel fell off, she still to this day thinks he loosened it deliberately to try to get rid of her.

Yup, 1172 makes that immediate connection for me too - but, actually, the Pop (at least in 103E guise) was the last model to use that engine.

Year of the Reliant Regal(?) - nope, you've lost me there. ;)

Heres one, which I would say if you believe in unbelievable co-incidences, you may be the best placed to get it Bobins....open to everyone of course.

Process of elimination if necessary, but I'll not make it too easy....up at a UK Auction in February/March 2019.
Glenmarch lists them all but often says awaiting information...go to the auction house website and they have the listings.

Have a go, if I get bored I will issue further clues!

It has a transversely mounted BMC A Series engine so Mini-based...

Woodworm looks like it could be a problem!

Unsurprisingly google doesnt know what a "medinashed" is. Seems to think I am from Medina Ohio or Medina NY state and I want to buy a shed. Default position for google...you are a shopper, you want to buy something, and you come from the United States.

So, if I had to guess it must be a military term, but please enlighten me Gibbo! Google has failed.
