Starts then stops

Hi everyone i have a c5 2003 hdi and it starts fine but will shut off after a few seconds anyone know what the problem might be.

It's a bit vague, but could be anything from that brief description - but likely to fuel or air issues. Really no help without a diagnostic that you should run (preferably with a Lexia, but anything will help. Post the codes back up here along with a VIN and we'll see if we can help.

Hi Shaun,As Marc suspects,Could be air related.
Make Sure nobody has shoved an apple up your exhaust,CAT Blockage gives exactly the same symptom...
check the exhaust with air line,exhaust may be fine,but cats do clog,and monkeys do it for a laugh..Very expensive to diagnose if its blocked like that..
it runs out of air in the exhaust and shuts the engine down,somebody shoved chips and chicken bones up my exhaust years ago,luckily I spotted the white paper inside walking back to the car which was parked on bit of a slope{Hill}..
Worth checking anyway..you never know,somebody might not like you.?.

Crikey, projectile chicken & chips from the exhaust, now there's a sight!

Sorry Brains Not in Gear,,
A blocked cat will also give the same symptoms,Still Runs Out Of Oxygen Though.
