Right, car retrieved, alternator removed. Things to remember : having a bigger spanner for the tensioning pulley helps a lot, and do the bolt behind it first, not last. (I carelessly did them in order of easiness to start with. Better to do the most dificult first.)
It's a Bosch 150 amp one.
Now, how likely is it that it's the regulator which is knackered rather than the alternator, and should I have a go at replacing that first? It seems quite easy to get hold of replacements which claim to be compatible.
