Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Sorry about the cat, Steve. I imagine your youngest grew quite attached to it.
Dogs - so misunderstood. They need strong leadership but also have this knack of taking that position if none available, hence doing exactly what they bloody well want to. I see so many people under the disullsion they're walking the dog when it's clearly the other way round.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Was this due to it dumping on you're daughter?
(No offence meant, but couldn't help myself, sorry)

No, it was quite old and had been ill before she got it - he'd spent well over £3,000 the previous year and it has cost her quite a bit while under her supervision.
Kidney failure apparently.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Sorry Steve, I was rather crudely using the other meaning for 'dumping' and it was quite harsh to have the cat put to sleep for that reason. (sorry again, twisted sense of humour I'm afraid)

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Pets do us two terrible dis-services. First they steal your hearts, and then (later) they break your hearts.
My Mother had a miserable Christmas. On 23rd (Sunday before) I got a very concerned call, asking me to pick her and Brandy (her Belgium Shepherd) and take them to the emergency vet, as Brandy was suddenly very unwell. It turned out Brandy had a tumour on the junction between the large and small intestine, and it had ruptured. IF (and it was a very slim if) an operation saved her life, it would only be for a few months, and they would not be a good few months.
Goodbye, Brandy. You had a character all of your own, and you are sorely missed by all who knew you.

I don't keep pets, I really don't like cats & dogs.
There is a great plains ratsnake here, been here for 24 years. It is my youngest daughter's but she has nowhere for the vivarium so I'm stuck with it.
Fortunately needs the absolute minimum of care and is pretty quiet

That dog gave you some fantastic exercise Steve You must be feeling better for it!
I don't do pets for the reasons you state James, plus I'm allergic to virtually every creature that walks on four legs and/or is covered in feathers and flies... I'm especially allergic to their excrement...
They are also needy and demanding... Human friends trump all animal pets always in every way...

Still recovering from it
Blisters on my feet and I can barely get upstairs, ankles, knees and hips all screaming.
Bloody good job I don't have to go to work!
Dog hair everywhere and it has started a mine in the garden, no-one told it coal was finished around here.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Sounds like me when I started my running career Steve! Keep at it and all those problems will disappear and the endorphin hit will take over... Touch-wood I've not blistered for ages but then my running shoes and socks cost well north of £100 every 350 miles or so... That helps! I ran 7 miles this morning and feel bloody marvellous for it! I'm utterly hooked on endorphins - the natural morphine-like drug the body makes in response to hard exercise - and get withdrawal symptoms if I don't get it... It's not called a 'runner's high' for nothing
Maybe the dog will find enough coal to make you rich - especially if it's good for steam locomotives I believe securing long-term coal supplies for preserved railways are quite a concern nowadays...
Dog hairs are amazing... They can defeat the best vacuum cleaners, even those designed for pet hairs... I feel for you

A dog licking your face is no substitute for a first aider when your heart stops and your chest needs pumping.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Black Tesla model S, courteously giving way to my own vehicle at a hump-backed bridge. I paid £125 for mine! and have 150miles more "range" and dont want to go 0-60 in under 6 seconds....happy days!
