Problems with bluetooth

Unread post by Franchute13 »

Hello!.
I have an other question.
Again it's about the P 407 v6 petrol with vin: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
The bluetooth does not work. The previous owner (my sister) of the car said that from one day to the next it stopped working.
The diagBox shows the following list of errors regarding bluetooth.

BSI code F03d
Defect absence of communication with the hands-free kit calculator or the nomad box.

Multifunction screen (EMF_C) code F8F0
Defect absence of communication with the hands-free kit computer.

Stereo code: F905
Defect of the auxiliary audio inputs ns 1.

Any suggestions on what it can be?
How is the wiring of the bluetooth? From the bluetooth the cable goes to the stereo or to the BSI?

regards

I've only just seen this post, so sorry for the delay!

On your vehicle the RD4 does not have an integrated bluetooth adapter within the RD4 Head Unit as it is an older unit. Instead it uses a Hands-free unit (or Nomad Unit as it is called) to handle the bluetooth.

I'm assuming you have a Lexia as you have reported those fault codes. Have you changed any settings in the BSI or the Head UNit or Multi Function Screen ECUs? Changing a value other than the correct one for the correct options can cause malfunctions as the Evolution BSI you have fitted was used on a range of other PSA vehicles - so some options are not applicable to your car.

Basically there is a communication fault between the Nomad Unit and the Multifunction Screen and also the AUX. This tells me it is a configuration problem most likely - that some settings may have been changed.

Can you confirm if anything or anyone has changed any settings anywhere?

Hello, I have the same problem. Bluetooth sometimes works, sometimes not.

I have the same errors, I replaced NOMADE from another car..

I coded it in diagbox, coded it again, it works for a while until it suddenly stops.

I'll turn off the car, 1 minute bsi going to sleep and again works...

my car is citroen C3 2010 with rd4 radio + Nomade v2

I searched half the internet, a lot of people have this problem but no one has found a solution.
thanks in advance for your help

The most obvious possibility to me is that you may be replacing a faulty Nomad with a faulty Nomad.....

There's probably no way you can know if the one you are replacing it with is also faulty - especially if the units are only randomly working!

Suggestions:
1) Make sure you are using the correct part (these are not the same on all vehicles, so may not be compatible hardware or software-wise) as the original.
2) Preferably use the correct brand new part.
3) Possible the RD4 is malfunctioning
4) Consider replacing with an RD45 that has integrated Bluetooth (however this will need a compatible EMF-C screen of the correct software level, plus coding in and the hands-free unit disabling in the BSI, and a separate microphone installing as the factory microphone will be connected to the hands free unit in your vehicle).
