I've recently bought a 2012 Grand Picasso Platinum. This has the inbuilt satnav system, still with the original 2012 version of mapping - with no speed cam locations - and obviously requires updating, as it shows me apparently going off road and travelling through fields when on newer stretches of road. I've checked with Citroen and baulked at the nonsensical £129 pounds for the updated maps, whereas on ebay there are plenty of sellers offering the software at more reasonable prices.
The issue I have is that the updating packages on ebay require either a memory card slot or a usb socket for the installation and my car has neither of these things. Has anyone found a workaround for this problem?

Re: updating satnav issue
I’ve moved this to the general telematics section until I know what system you have. To that end can you pop your VIN up and I’ll see what options you have.

Re: updating satnav issue
Hi Marc, sorry for the delay in producing my VIN number, but here it is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Hope this does some good!

Ok, you do have a USB port in your vehicle - open the flap and you'll see a 3.5mm jack for iPod / MP3 Audio on and the USB is underneath.
It will be wither on the dash or in the central console area. You use the USB to update the maps and the firmware.

Is this a Magnetti Marelli satnav?

Re: updating satnav issue
Hmmm. Nope, no usb/3.5 jack socket anywhere in the car that I can see... I've searched the glove boxes, the central box (it's egs) and on the centre console there's a cig lighter socket and a 12v power socket. Can't find anything else.
How can I tell if I have a Magnetti Marelli satnav?

Re: updating satnav issue
Then that is made by Magnetti Marelli. I have the latest map data for Europe together with the extra data for France to cover the new 80KM/h speed limits. I updated my eMyWay system in the X7 last month.

Thought so.
For the benefit of the OP it's just to point out that you don't have to pay anyone on Ebay.

Re: updating satnav issue
Thanks to GiveMeABreak and Paul-R for the info and input. I am a short-sighted clot - the socket (USB and 3.5) has been found... It was in the side of the central cool-box, where it looks as though a previous owner has moved it. The right-hand power socket on the centre console looks like an after market replacement, filling the space where the USB socket presumably once lived.
So, in due course I'll update the mapping. And thanks again.
