Problems with the doors

Post by Sufii »

Hi again guys!

I just bought my frist citroen C5 2009 model.
The doors have that function that they will be locked or stay open in to options when you open them.
But two of my doors just wont stay wide open.

Whats the solution? Hope is not a biggie.

Can you be a little clearer? I’m not understanding what you mean.

Are You talking about the mechanical door hinges or the central door locking?

The hinges can suffer from water ingress, causing them to break up internally. I always recommend a good spray of silicon grease all round them. See my post here for pics:

They can be replaced if they are really bothering you.

They are £75.97 each from Citroen brand new (UK), 9035W9 for the Left Front and 9035X0 for the front Right one. Shouldn’t be too difficult to replace with the help of another person.

I can put some instructions up tomorrow for you if you want?

I've actually located a post on another Forum that has the pictures and procedures of how one individual has done this - so rather than repeating, it's easier to link to the post:
