Well, I think perhaps the siemens double doser system is more sophisticated than the single Delphi one.

So in effect, you could remove the butterfly from the body (or in my case both), leave everything else in place so the car thinks it's doing as it's told, happy ever after...
Something like this:
I tried that as at the time I suspected the flap was causing a hesitation that I sometimes get.
It behaved exactly the same with or without the flap fitted. The only difference is the rather rough way the engine shuts down; which the doser also assists with.

Well the rad will be here Monday, so once fitted I can confirm the butterflies are working, then go from there. Is your's still missing or did it get refitted when no change was noticed? The other option to removing it is to plug the vacuum pipe, on your set up there is only one vacuum solenoid on the compressor I guess, whereas I have two. I'll also check to see if mines closes when the engine is switched off.
Thanks for the info.

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone

Rad fitted, front back on the car, plugged in and got 5 codes that all relate to the small drive without the pipe on the doser. Checked the 2 butterflies in the actuator test, fine. Test drive was fine, replugged and got 3 codes, first, couldn't connect to the bsi and 2 remote ecu messages. I haven't cleared those. I remember seeing those before and they vanished on their own. Off out this afternoon so I'll plug in again later. Definitely not a regen issue, as last regen was the previous journey before the damage. I'm beginning to think that I hadn't tightened the jube clip properly and over time it had worked it's way off. If it was tightened fully then I wouldn't think it was possible for the clip to get over the flaring on the entrance to the doser. Will keep an eye on the position of the pipe over the next few journeys as well.
Thanks again for all the info. above.
