C4 2006 1.6hdi interior fan just stopped.

Hey guys wasn't to long to get some help again. Right the wife has told me the fan was making a rumbling sound a day ago and then packed up. Heat come from the vents just no fan . I have removed the fan and tested it and it runs freely on the car battery and also checked the fuses and the bridge fuse on the external fuse board and all the fuses on the interior one. I get back lights to the main panel for the fan air con and temperature gauge. What have I missed.

If it runs freely on a bench, check the power wires to the fan, or substitute another motor, if that's good the blades may be hitting something, and/or it's not secured correctly which would make sense if it was rumbling.

I had a more in depth look and found the connector block from harness to fan unit had shorted out and frazeled out the cables and the block. The other issue is the pins on the fan unit are fragile, I will get another connector block and harness from the scrap yard and splice the cables just hope the pins hold out.

Citroen heater control resistor has been diagnosed as the culprit. Easy fix now new resistor and second had harness. few I get to breath again . cheers fellas.
