No, sadly not and not being local - i.e. beyond cycling range - I'm very unlikely to any times soon

Bit of resurrection and repetion never hurt anyone.....some may not remember the Airfix thread which has slipped graciously into oblivion so here are a a few interesting engines from the not strictly on-topic post I made some time ago....

If you peruse the current Whatsthisthen? of the car outside "Jim's Cafe" my best guess so far has an interesting engine claim to fame....the car with the smallest V4 engine

Most lorries did that in the '50's, the ones that didn't have petrol engines that was.

Ihere is more information here on EDB engines than anyone is ever likely to need. I do like a bit of old advertising though...

That's the one. I think that was my first introduction to internal combustion engines, I remember trying to start one with a propeller on it clamped in a vice. Thanks for that bit of nostalgia. Ether, paraffin and castor oil was what I seem to remember made up the fuel.

We need to have a chat about that I reckon, Jim.

It's somewhere that's on my bucket list, so we might be able to arrange something at some point.

Have to wonder whether it would be the stuff inside I'd be looking at, or outside listening to the noises from the various exhausts...
