Xantia plip batteries

Unread post by shill94210 »

just an FYI in case (like me) you need to change the Xantia IR plip batteries:
There is a very small crosshead screw near the top of the plip which needs to come out - then the top comes off, to reveal two batteries.
on mine, they are Maxell CR2025 3volt - mine cost about £1 each

I ordered mine from http://www.battery-force.co.uk
A box of ten batteries (I've got three Xantias!) cost £9.28 including UK postage

Amazing how long they last. My Xantia is a 1998 which I've had from new and the plip is still on it's original battery. The other plip has never been used.

I bought a packet of 5 Brave CR2025's from my local (Stockport) £1 shop. Havn't tried them yet but I couldn't resist the price [:)]

Scary thought - having to pay several times the car's price for a plip battery!

I have not seen a Lithium battery leak either, and would be [:D] "amased" if one did. [:D]
