New MOT
Popped the C5 in for its test this morning, straight through, no advisories.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Re: New MOT
How's its AM6 going? Full of admiration when I read about your rescuing the C5 with a second hand box.
My version on the Vectra has just done 140,000 miles on the same ATF put in by the AT specialist when it was rebuilt.
Scared stiff to do the right thing and renew the fluid just in case it causes it to go kaput, when everything is working fine just now!
Regards Neil

Re: New MOT
It was a gamble that seems to have paid off Neil, doing all it should now with around 5k miles since I fitted it., I did change the oil when I fitted it and once again since.
The problem I have now is that I could really do with something smaller, I don't need a big estate as for the most time I only use it locally with maybe a monthly 100 mile round trip to friends.

Re: New MOT
Gibbo, shame we're so far apart, I'd love your c5 and I have a little c4 136 petrol coupé sat doing nothing.
Neil, just do it, like everything you do for the first time, it's unnerving, but it really is straight forward and Elis' post helps no end.

Re: New MOT
Not so much apprehensive about physically doing the job Pete, more scared of "upsetting the current equilibrium".
A couple of posts I made on the Automatic Choice thread sum up my reservations which keep putting me off doing the job! Box is performing as it should, and the external cooler fitted probably has helped.

Re: New MOT
I'm sure your engine works as it should, yet you replace the oil and filter?
