NEW RR

Post by tomsheppard »

Does anybody know if the new Rolls-Royce is fitted with Hydropneumatic suspension? It would appear that Big Money Wasted have got it wrong again. The "Mini" aside, they just don't seem to understand what a British motor means. Royces are supposed to be elegant.I don't reckon that this one is.

According to their press release, the Phantom is fitted with "Self levelling Air Springs" so I am none the wiser.

Mmmm, I just love that shoebox on wheels look, especially if you can get it with the attractive metallic beige paint job. If I had one, I would sell it and buy lots of Citroens!

Yes, one for every breakdown of the week[:d]
Joking apart, My next lottery win goes on the new Bentley instead! Still plenty left over for a decent Chapron DS and a Safari and a well sorted SM...

Oh go on, are you telling me that you wouldn't also like one of these amusing 4x4 2CV's that Louis Barbour is now doing! That's got to be such fun! If I was going for copious consumption I would probably have a Lotus Elise for on road and a top spec Range Rover for off and some mad Citroën for fun. I still laugh at the memory of the 2CV I saw aeons ago, which has a large clockwork key fitted to the back, which turned as it drove along.

Maybe not but I do remember that Car editor Gavin Green had a 2CV with a Turbo which must have been a real hoot until it caught fire... I remember a Fiat 500 that had a key, but it didn't turn. It was a regular sight in Braintree 20 years ago

Saw a Diane once with a V8 engine mounted amidships. It nearly rolled on its side when the throttle was blipped.

Ah, well I saw a BX (think it was a BX, but was one of those sleek big Cits) which as towing a trailer made out if the rear end of another BX in a nice matching colour. Very flash!
Also laughed a lot at a 2CV which I saw on the M25 which was painted in army camoflage and was covered in cammo netting with oil/water cans and assorted other gubbins hanging off it.
How to trun a RR thread into a Citroen thread

So RR camouflaged the prototype to look like a 2CV- damn' cunning!
