clicking recircirc motor on 405

Unread post by caveman_si »

Ive just been reminded that my car clicks. its been doing it soo long ive grown accustomed to it. But i think its time to stop it. since ive got a bit of driving coming up with some friends and i dont want to send them mad. (well any madder)
The clicking is behind the glove box (car is a 405td 1.9 1994) which ive been told is a result of the cog on the recirc motor/flap loosing teeth. I have also been told model shops stock a suitable replacement.
So my questions are 1) does it sound about right ie dodgy cog 2) anybody know where i can get said replacement cog 3) any one have a rought guide to replaceing said cog???
cheers si

Its probably the same part on the 406 if you can find one for that, as my 98 s reg 406 had exactly the same problem!, i was happy to let it click as i had got used to it and didnt notice it, but it used to drive passengers nuts !!

the last one i did,i turned the flap to the desired setting and then disconnected the plug,as customer couldnt afford the part at that time!

I have heard some people have repaired these motors using radio control car gears from a model shop.

Interesting, i am into radio controlled helicopters and planes and those gears look exactly the same as futaba 148 servo gears, the whole servo is only about £8 and a replacement gear set is about £3 is you can get them, easier to just buy a complete servo
