I've split this into a new topic Fabio so as not to confuse the issue. If you have your VIN code, post it or PM it and I will have a look based on your car specs.

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
When does the light come on?
If it comes on under hard acceleration, then it seems to be a symptom of a failing high pressure fuel pump, which is common on these engines, and often not worth repairing.

Thanks for split the post
I usually drive in a small city. The warning light comes after I drive in low rpm (1500 to 2000)
I drove about 250 miles on motorway and the light never came, actually one day the light was on and after i drive a few miles on the motorway the warning light was gone.

A diagnostic (preferably with a Lexia) is essential for proper diagnosis. If you have your VIN it will also help identify your car.

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
Hopefully its not the HP fuel pump.
Sadly the HPi engine was a bit of a failure, they stopped using it before the Mk1 production even came to an end, This meant lots of parts were also no longer available very early on.
The HP fuel pump which is one of the most common failing parts on this engine is also no longer available from Citroen. Not sure if anyone repairs them but to buy one new would most likely write the car off anyway.

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
If the car's problem is the High Pressure Fuel Pump for how long is it safe to drive the car without replace for a new one?
Thank you

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
If it is the fuel pump, then I think we're trying to say that you may not be able to replace it - as the run of these cars with the HPi engine was only from 2001 to 2003 due to poor sales. So the availability of HPi pumps is extremely rare on the second hand market as they have not been available from Citroen for a long time.
If it's failing then it won't get any better, just worse - but you need the confirmation first.
If you pop up your VIN I'll check the part number, but I suspect (without checking) that it will be a 1920 AR pump. Haven't managed to locate one yet.

If you read this topic: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=54241 you might find some useful information, and a possible source of a refurbished pump.
Finding the link to the refurb service from our forum link is a bit convoluted, here is a direct link: https://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthre ... ng-Service

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
There were some posts a little while ago about reconditioning the HPi pump. IIRC it's the same pump as fitted to some Vauxhalls. I think...
EDIT
Beaten to the post!

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
I looked everywhere on internet for the high pressure fuel pump and I couldn't fine one. If the anti pollution fault light is related to high pressure fuel pump it is going to be hard to fix it.
It is a shame that a nice car like this has lack of car parts.
Anyway next week I am taking the car to the mechanic so he can give a look at it.
Thank you all for your help

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
I noticied something funny. The last there times the anti pollution fault warning showed up exactly in the same place ( it was on the motorway exit downwards on 5th gear but on low speed about 30 miles per hour).

Re: Citroen C5 HPi Faulty anti pollution warning light
I would of thought 30 MPH in a Petrol in fifth gear is pushing it - I think that's too high a gear for the speed. On a diesel with the extra torque maybe - but that won't be doing the car any favours if the car is struggling with fuel pressure.

Driving at very low RPM is a bad habit I still bring from my previous car. The best maybe is drive between 2000 and 2500 rpm
