Hi
In my Xantia, 2001 (lhd, if it makes any difference) the front left (driver) door's window mechanisem went belly up. the steel cable fell off it's route - the cable is not torn, as far as I can see it just disintegrated and the window itself fell down to fully open position. I hope that the Xantia veterans in the forum remember how to fix it and how to reassemble it.
as always, thanx for your help.

Loads of offers on ebay for new Xantia window regulators - with and without new motors. I've recently done my C5-X7 passenger door. With the new regulator delivered and the door card removed, the job took me a couple of hours. Cost around 40 quid. Also buy some new plastic fixtures. The old ones invariably snap.

There is a guide on here for rebuilding the window mechanism, i used it when mine came off the spool, but of duck tape to hold the window up and removed the regulator to fix in the house,
I replaced the plastic clip with an R clip on my drivers window as it kept popping off, got it down to a ten minute job in the end!

Re-stringing with stainless steel multistrand is recommended.
