Is this the right adaptor?

This unit is the RT4 and RT5 system and is made by Magneti Marelli
Main differences between RT4 & RT5 - RT5 has Bluetooth Hands Free, faster Navigation calculation and on C4 & C4 Picasso only, USB ports and a High-Res screen.

I’m assuming he has the RT4 system as you’ve posted in this thread. If that’s the case you’ll probably need a small programme called Mirascripts to enable the option. This is A small programme written for the RTX range of systems specifically to enable some customisation, but caution is advised as its not official.

ECD5 has done this after upgrading to an RT4, so should be able to help you out.

Yeah, you need to enable the USB either through Diagbox or MiraScripts.

If you've got Diagbox, that would probably be easier but make sure you use a new enough version of Diagbox or you may have an issue. After accessing my RT4 with the newest firmware with my much older Diagbox install (7.63, I think) I now have the issue where the RT4 pops a warning at boot every time! I haven't got around to reinstalling the RT4 firmware as it is a pain in the arse.

Just update the RT4 firmware to 8.31 first, and you should be fine using diagbox up to V7.63 for the configuration.

Let me know if you need any more info as I've used bothe methods before.

Here's the section in Diagbox:

Brilliant, Thanks for the Info, all working a treat now, did it with my diagbox as its the v7.83 one.

I have to say the X7 is a nice car, I drove it the 450 miles to my dads and it is a mile eater, its a 2.0l 138hp but is way more powerful than his old 2.2l and was averaging over 45mpg.
My other half was driving it around for a week just to test it out (have only had it a few weeks but it had to go back to the dealers to be repaired) before I brought it over for him, now she wants one!!!!

That's great!

And yes, they're an absolute pleasure on the motorway; you arrive more relaxed than when you've set off :-D
