But you won't believe me now. Last Wednesday(I think) I was on a motorway(driving a bit quickly) and undertray(part that's connected to the front bumper) had cracked and it burst in a million pieces and got stuck in a way that it caused wheel arch liners to break and touch both front tyres. That resulted in melted(!) arch liners and also tyres were coated with plastic.
And while mending that, I managed to severely damage the sill...

VTS's don't seem to like this time of the year

Oh no! What a horrible coincidence that both our cars should suffer from this.

I'm beginning to think my VTS doesn't lke me!

Yeah, seems like every VTS can't behave for a while, it's a troublemaker!

Haha! I like to see cars like that, but would feel too conspicuous if I had it myself.

I had a look at the damage today, much worse than I thought. I had expected to be able patch the undertray together with pop rivets and zip ties and maybe a bit of sheet aluminium. Unfortunately there are too many bits missing, both corners of the undertray are gone and most of the mountings that are part of the bumper. Ebay, here I come....

I destroyed one on that car too, I was possibly going faster than I should have been. I got one in a scrappy which I was very surprised about. It got held on with cable ties and self tappers but presumably must have been off and refitted more than once by now!

I hope this is the last post I make on this thread as it would seem to all be fixed now. Since the cambelt & waterpump were changed it hasn't cut out at all and not felt as though it should be giving more (I hope this hasn't jinxed it!).
Also thanks to a fantastic chap on C4UK FB group going to a scrap yard getting the bits and posting them to me, LEZ now has front wheel arch liners and bumper undertray again!

Haha!

Things are looking up as today on the way back from Brighton I overtook a group of three cars and hardly even worried that the engine might cut out while on the wrong side of the road!

And that’s what she is good at. I miss that in the cars I have running just now. The old 205 is the best overtaker I have just now, but not a patch on the vts.

I wouldn't just miss it, I need it! *overtaking, not cutting out

I'm glad you sorted it :)
What are those small plastics for? Mine doesn't show them on service.citroen.

Also, I've got a question. Does your front bumper hang in the place it meets headlights and front wing? There where that plastic pin is.
Because mine does and that plastic pin pops out on(really) high speeds.

It is very strange, I've not had a C4 wiith the triangular bits (I imagine that's what you mean) on the bumper undertray, but Citroen Service does show that my VTS should have them.

No my bumper doesn't hang as described and it didn't on any of my C4s so it seems you have a problem (Not sure what plastic pin you mean though)

Weird that your VTS has those pieces and my doesn't
I would imagine their purpose is to steer air into brakes or tyres, but those holes in the bumper are for that.

Here's a photo of my car. Circled area, where headlamp, fender and bumper meet. It's got a 2-3 mm gap there. Plastic pin is on the bumper and it assures that bumper stays in line.
I've went through a trouble of taking the whole front of the car down and refitting it, but it stayed the same. Only thing I did manage to do is break one headlamp mount
