Don't think S163LTR is very well...

Unread post by 9000se »

Evening all,

Recently the rear suspension is dropping at a quick rate soon after switch off.

Within seconds it comes down...

Wondering if any idea what could be wrong (and are spheres due to be renewed?)?

There is a small pool of LHM on top of the reservoir which I don't think is connected...

Thanks.

It could be an internal leakage in the rear hydractive valve, or perhaps the brake doseur valve, or it could be a leaky seal in one of the rear strut cylinders.

Try pulling the hydractive fuse, and see if it still drops as quickly. The hydractive valve typically only leaks (internally) when power is applied.

Thanks, will give that a go...I thought it could be the valve as it had been dropping over night but just now, it drops within seconds...

There was always a small pool of green blood on top of the reservoir during the time I owned that car, but it was very little as I only topped it up once. The car did settle a bit when not used for a few days. That was quite a while ago, although not many miles. It’s very likely that the car is objecting to having been unused for well over a year.

I forgot to ask how far it drops? It is normal for the height correctors to adjust the height of the car car after you get out, but this would not explain the height dropping well below normal.

I think it's near the bump stop but not at the lowest position, last night, the back sank very quickly without the front following.

This morning, after I parked up, I decided to observe it for about 30 seconds and nothing happened, all four stayed the same height...

To be honest, the Citroen system on both the CX and Xantia had been much more reliable than the Range Rover (I know it's different...and EAS) we had - nightmare!

Sorry to bump up this old thread, wondering if anyone could tell me how to get the car started if I can't remember the password...
