306,,,,poor idling!

Hi my wifes' 306, 1.4 pertol. The engine when at temp, struggles to idle , it keeps cutting out. I have changed the air filter and found a little engine oil in the air filter housing! any help gratefully received, many thanks Terry.

Does the engine run OK if you apply a little throttle, just enough to keep it running?
