This Hemmings Daily article makes reference to "ChopperOui"
I don’t know who ChopperOui is, but he’s been inserting VW Type 2s into everything from the Adam West Batmobile to Model Ts. How does he do it? Probably with a Wacom tablet.

full marks for imagination! :-D

...talking of which, does anyone have any pics of Andy Saunders' custom shows, back in the 1980's at Westover Motors? (I'm reminded of his V8 Milk Float)

I lost my pics many moons ago, would be nice to see some.

I remember seeing some of his creations at some of the shows back in the day, but don't think I've got photos unfortunately. I do remember a road-going Mini powered Dalek - not sure if that was one of his though !

Andy Saunders got a bit of an airing on the "Collection of Interesting and Awful Rats" thread, but the links I posted up have expired, probably shuffled to a different part of his website. http://www.andysaunders.net/

there is a nice gallery here, the cut off allegro spawned some comment

There is an exhibition running this year at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu
Beaulieu is proud to announce the launch of its brand new summer exhibition The Art of Kustom featuring incredible creations from the imagination of car customiser Andy Saunders.

Visitors to the National Motor Museum can catch a first glimpse of the new exhibition at a launch on Father’s Day’s Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day on Sunday June 17th 2018, when Andy will drive one of his stunning machines around the grounds of the attraction. The full showcase of Andy’s most famous jaw-dropping creations will be on show inside the museum until September 2018.

This one made it to South Africa (home of the Outspan so it figures)....to the James Hall Transport Museum in Johannesburg

A poster on the mini forum speculated whether this was painted yellow...but according to what I have read the Grapefruit Version was never made as a viable vehicle but did appear as a toy

Thanks Neil. The Outspan Orange was in Beaulieu for many years, I was there a couple of years back and am sure it won't be my last visit. I never saw a 'Grapefruit' version.

probably not much more difficult to source than a yellow Grapefruit in the Grocery section these days.... they all seem to be pink.... most irritating!

..appearing twice nightly in a West-end play can be quite a strain. The anti-dote is to have a hobby or a means of relaxation. Dora Bryan for example likes nothing better than a day in the country with her poodle and pet budgie...
Appetites whetted?
