LEJOG in 9h36m in an AUDI (what else?)

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Heard this on Vanessa Feltz, the driver not shy of a bit of publicity appeared on the show.

Record-breaking driver who drove length of Britain in nine hours 'should be prosecuted for speeding'

Room 101 material I think.

Unless there's any proof of speeding then I think he's in the clear.

Mind you it did take 6 years of planning....

Surely the title should be JOGLE?

To quote from the linked article "We left at 8pm, which we perfectly timed to pass Glasgow at 11.45pm, then come through Liverpool and Birmingham..." which must imply a north to south route.

Although why he would go through Liverpool is beyond me. Maybe some misinformation here?

Of course you are right. If there is a clamour from the next 20 posters to this thread before it dies of its own natural causes I will change it JoGLE but then the next weighty dilemma....uppercase or lower case 'o'?

FYI Mr Google reckons it takes 13h 36m for JOGLE (capital O) - 14h 58m in current traffic conditions.

First post asking for JOGLE by the way!

I reckon there should be a lower case 't' in the middle to represent 'to' :rofl2:

Very good. I'm struggling to see how I could insert the apostrophe from Land's End into that.

Jo'GtL'sE?

Too much?

Yep, I'd settle for Jo'GtL'sE, I think that accurately describes the journey :)

And I have just twigged what the thread is about, thanks to the more descriptive contraction.

It's not a journey, it's an event & there's no "t" or "to" because no one says that, in speech the start & finish place names are just run together (of course Audidiot did it arse about face, only to be expected!) & when referred to in written form, if there's anything between them, it's a hyphen. Here endeth the lesson.

'81 2CV Club
