Can I put mechanical speedos in room 101? I never realised what a pain in the posterior they were until now.....

That video totally grossed me out - and another reason why I never buy uncovered food products from shops - especially Lidl and the like that leave everything open for all and sundry to have a good cough and sneeze over; not to mention the little sprogs that like to go and have a good play about with everything after God knows what! :-D

Hence why I would prefer the hanky remains in the real world. That and the fact I had great fun as a kid using my dad's for "parachuting" my toys out the bedroom window. 8-)

I much prefer tissues Mike but fully concur with your sentiments...

Oddly perhaps, I've never had a problm with coming into contact with other people's 'emissions' (for want of a better word) and can never recall becoming ill as a result...

Marc, I guess from your feelings expressed above, you'd not be happy in a public swimming pool... Touch-wood, during 5 years of near daily swimming I've never once got anything from the pool, except many firm friendships and a lot of fitness...

I came into a lot of contact with bodily fluids during karate - not least blood... Again, it just made me fitter...

My daughter spends her entire working day up to her eyeballs in it as a nurse...

That's spot on correct about the swimming pools Jim - had some bad experiences in Singapore where I learned to swim, so much prefer the open sea when abroad now - except when in the sea near Cuba & West Mexico where I had several 'large' creatures of some sort brush past my legs - suffice it to say adrenalin and warp speed kicked in and a beeline for the coast!

Ahh yes, I know exactly that feeing Marc, swimming in a known croc-free lake in Australia's Northern Territory near Darwin I had a snake brush past me...

Let's just say it was a good job I was in the water at the time

9 out of ten creatures in the Northern Territory are at best poisonous, if not lethal, especially snakes... How we survived it and brought a daughter into the world there I'll never know

But then a red-back spider did have a good go at ending it all for me

The tales I could tell....

Me too - I've had my fair share of creature features - snakes I'm ok with as I was desensitised to those as a kid when I had an Indian entertainer in Singapore bung about 20 of then round my neck in front of several hundred people :-D

However, I draw the line with anything having more than 4 legs, which is not natural. :-D

My experience of swimming in Singapore was on the day I was due to leave, the chuck out time at the hotel was mid-day and my flight was at around 11pm, the hotel said they'd provide a room for a shower free for the afternoon so around 6pm I returned and went for a swim in the rooftop pool.

Suddenly the sky went black and I was surrounded by huge lightning flashes as a tropical storm hit. #-o

In Egypt in the army we swam every day in the Suez Canal, the only beasties there were the ships, as they passed by they moved the water with them, you could stand near the edge neck deep and the water would go down until it was only ankle deep then rush back up as it caught up.

I've only transited through Singapore in the early 90s.... The one thing that really struck me was how clean and ordered the place was...
