Mrs Concern saw me looking at the ad for the Activa, her comment was "Why do you want another XM? Lol.

I've been looking at accelerator pedals on Ebay and without the Citroen part number in any of the ads it is difficult as all the numbers shown on most of them are a lot different to those on my pedal. However, I've found one from a VTS HDI which has the PSA number and what I think must be the Bosch number both the same as mine. Anyone tell me if it will work with my car? It's £30 which while more expensive than many of them is still worth a try.

I think you have little other choice than to go for it at that price - looking at others I see that 1601 V6 is the standard one and 1601 V7 is the aluminium one - so I would give it a go. You can always slap a bit of Bacofoil on top of the pedal for effect if desired :-D

I tried the pedal today and at first I thought it was fixed as it revved up to over 6k rpm no problem, (was lovely to drive having only used the Moodus for a Month or so) however taking it to the red line it goes into limp mode just like before, boo!
So does anyone have any other suggestions (not the match and petrol can please!), based on my previous posts or any suggestions for using the Lexia/Diagbox to track down this problem.

Also it seems to me to be linked to the rev limiter/red line, so does anyone what triggers these and what happens at limit (is it fuel cut off?) Is it the same as the severe limp mode I get only it should reset when revs drop?

I've just got a throttle body to try on this, but it doesn't have the gasket. If I can't get hold of the real thing over the Easter break, can I make one out of an old breakfast cereal box like we usd to in the old days?

I fitted the "new" throttle body and gasket today. The car revved into the red line twice just get me excited to think it was fixed! After that it went back to going into limp each time it hits the red line.

Any more ideas from the information already provided?
Anything else I can do with Lexia/Diagbox to help diagnose it?

Are you sure this isn't by design to limit engine damage whilst stationary and not being cooled or something like that?

I haven't actually tried it stationary, I always rev it in the gears under load (1st about 42mph & 2nd about 65mph).

To give us some ideas, can you tell us what are the control systems on this engine? Electric throttle, electric VVT (or does this have vacuum or hydraulic assistance?) - anything else? any vacuum operated controls?

Most information is on the first page of this thread including the codes I got on Lexia/Diagbox, it has Magneti Marelli injection system, a vvt solenoid (which I've replaced with new) and yes the throttle is fly by wire.
