Nexus 7 - Citroen C5 x7 Exclusive 2009

Post by JBlack85 »

Hi All,

I've recently purchased a Citroen C5 x7 Exclusive.
Unfortunately it doesn't come with Sat Nav or even Bluetooth, as it has the RD3 installed.

I'm therefore looking to add a Nexus 7 into the dashboard where the current multi function LCD is in place and under tray.
Ill move the LCD display to the bottom of the dash (Pointless penny holder).

Anyone else done this before? Any idea where the best place to purchase a Sat Nav Facia, otherwise it will be dremel and plastic putty job.

Any other advice, gratefully received.

I would be very careful - the multifunction screen and RD4 (there is no RD3 on the C5 X7) are integral to the car's systems, so apart from an OEM upgrade to another compatible PSA system, be prepared for problems and loss of functionality as it is not really recommended to put an aftermarket system in on these.

Apologies GMAB,

Slip of the finger it is indeed the RD4.

The plan is to not touch the RD4 except for the movement of the LCD Screen.

The Nexus 7 will run through the Aux input on the RD4, with a bluetooth remote added to the steering wheel to allow for next song etc.

so You are using a tablet just to play via the aux? I’d have just gone for the USB Box unit to allow connections to the head unit for MP3 and USB playback

If you'd use bluetooth -adaptor (Yatour for example), then you can control playback (prev/next) on Nexus with radio / steering wheel controls.
