Thats my old one. Its never been taxed since I sold it. It is a sound car, and the door shuts were repaired properly in my owenership, but hadnt been painted. It is painted now and looking good, but £3200 is quite a bit more than double what I sold it for over a year ago. It also had a clutch and front brakes in my ownership and it has the manual boost controller to make it drive better. I thought I was lucky to get 1400 for it and think just now that's about it's value.

I'm just thinking, I paid just over 700 for it, had it a year did a couple of jobs and doubled it's price, the current owner has painted the couple of little paint jobs and doubled it's value so the next owner will keep a year and sell for 7 grand hahahahaha

And he hasn't done the back brakes yet which are knackered, needs discs, pads, quite possibly caliper too as they are seriously corroded as they do!

For me i do not find it too unreasonable, but thats only because i have spent over £3500 in last 9 months on my Activa. They are not coming up for sale much at all anymore.

It was in excellent condition when I sold it, just needed the rear door shuts painted and a bit on the sill painted along with it, and new discs pads and possibly calipers replaced. It was under sealed and rustproofed in the sills in my ownership. Good car.

Good morning - so...I won the bid!

I was originally sitting on the fence when it was first listed, having decided against it due to the high amount of owners, but this time round, I just decided I need to get one (have been looking for one for a while - lost a bid on a red one last year).

Having had a look around the forum (haven't seen the car) - it seems like it has been well looked after...

Mmm...thanks - I will go and have a look at the car, but if it is not as described - "Everything Working" then I would be a little annoyed considering it is some way away from where I live.

Ahh - actually just had a look at the thread - I think it's OK, as I had known about the boost valve and the door line shut (? same as chassis fix?)...the misting hopefully goes away since I am planning to use it semi-daily.

Certainly, it is (in the UK) the only one that has come to market for some time, that in itself generates "a speculative mind" in the seller, I still think it is overpriced considering the reports on its true condition.

However: Remember how few of these cars come to market now and that metal work is easy to do/cost than complicated mechanicals.

I am not too fussed about the misting or the valve blanked off, but am concerned about the chassis leg cut. Will have a look, still awaiting his email. (didn't find that thread before...). He might rescind if he wanted to make money off it. It's way too far for me to go and see it in person so relied on the research I done on the car from Pistonheads and here.

Not got a clue why any cutting (and leave it open) would be needed, but if it is just cleaning, a patch and re-welding I see no reason for that to diminish the car beyond the cost of that work being needed.

The only thing that reduces the cost of these cars is how much work you do yourself. If you rely on a garage then do not drive it much or be prepared to spend more than normal on a daily :)
