2.2hdi hw and hx engine swap

Unread post by dragon »

Hi
Need some help please.

Talking engine out of c8 2.2hdi,will be out in the .morning
C8 and pug 807 use 2.2 hdi dw12ted4, hw engine code.
Best replacement for me would be out of 406 and c5 but they use dw12ted4 ,hx engine code.
All i know is turbo is different on engines.
Its a same garrett gt1549p but on c8 it has different turbo exhaust housing
Are the engines interchangeable?
Any other differences?
Both use crcp1 common rail bosch injection sistem no coding .
And can engine from automatic 2.2hdi be used? of course flywheel and clutch will need swapping on to auto engine .
Reason for swap is turbo gone engine ran away for 30 sec at probably 7k rpm .
If anyone can help with come info please.
Thank you

For a start what year are we talking about for the C5? MK I or MK II? And with or without particle filter?

Here is some basic info for the 2.2 Engines from the C5 MK II:

As it will be illegal for public road use without its DPF, and unlikely to get an MOT with the new tests coming out, it might be the time to consider putting it back now that you’ll be doing the engine.
