If I'm not allowed to inflict the Floral Dance on the P.E. regulars, then I'm going to deploy this one instead :-D

Entertaining interlude....I 'll take my link from Joannie's phone call, over to another track featuring the telephone, well a handset and a radio anyway :)

Yes and not an obvious choice by Blondie, ELO, or Lionel Richie

But This including a bonus yellow mark lll Cortina.

P.E.Jukebox-Morse Code Tracks Interlude

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

While waiting for the next Link here is an interlude

Needs to go in the PE JukeBox Morse Code playlist....

Got a mention in a trailer for a Mark Kermode's Celluloid Jukebox show on Radio 2. Must have been in a film but don't know which one off the top of my head.

It certainly has a different feel from the original, dark and atmospheric

Yes you're quite right - it has to be Sham 69 and a track from when I was at school!

So, the next one should be 70 - now where to go with that........?

Number 70 in the periodic table is Ytterbium..... as I'm sure you all know  So what's Ytterbium used for ? I would have thought you all already knew, but for the one or two that don't, I'll shamelessly nick a bit of text from Wikipedia to explain. There'll be a short test later so pay attention :-D

High-stability atomic clocks
Ytterbium clocks hold the record for stability with ticks stable to within less than two parts in 1 quintillion (2×10−18).[31] The clocks developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) rely on about 10,000 rare-earth atoms cooled to 10 microkelvin (10 millionths of a degree above absolute zero) and trapped in an optical lattice—a series of pancake-shaped wells made of laser light. Another laser that "ticks" 518 trillion times per second provokes a transition between two energy levels in the atoms. The large number of atoms is key to the clocks' high stability.

So where to go with that ?

Top quality linking there Bobins.....and ytterbium is an old favourite of the FCF, one of the 4 periodic table elements named after a little place in Sweden called Ytterby

It appeared in the Electric Vehicles Thread simply because one of the colour options on the Renault Zoe is Yttrium Grey!
