The one whose entire rail network isn't even 9 miles long ?

The Island Line isn't the shortest railway using ex-LU roling stock though - the Alderney Railway at about 2 miles long probably gets that award :)

....more crooning from the catalogue of writer Walter Donaldson ( who wrote the music for "makin' Whoopee"), and he does have a decent catalogue of familiar songs.

I have plumped for 'My Blue Heaven' gentle little ditty

Prince paired up with Sheena Easton for quite a while, and one of Sheena Easton's more famous earlier songs (and one of John Peel's favourites  ) was 9 to 5, but on its release in the US it was renamed Morning Train (9 to 5) so as not to confuse it with Dolly Parton's completely different song entitled 9 to 5. So here we have a bit of Dolly :)

..so an exercise of the grey matter required from Dolly Parton, and hopefully a creative but not too obscure link..mmm let me think?

Numbers! 9 to 5 the antithesis of which will be 6 to 8. Now what springs to mind song wise.

Its obvious 2,4,6,8 Motorway :!: What could be more motoring related?

This of course
Wish I had a grey Cortina
Whiplash aerial, racing trim
Cortina owner - no one meaner
Wish that I could be like him

Furlined seats and lettered windscreen
Elbow on the windowsill
Eight track blazing Brucie Springsteen
Bomber jacket, dressed to kill

enjoy

Looks like this old thread needs a bit of a nudge.

Nice familiar stirring tune, I am sure the pilots wore one of those jackets Tom referred to in "Grey Cortina" as the link!
Ron Goodwin takes the credit for the music. Plenty options for links from his musical "filmography"

...and I am going to follow it up with a "Where Eagles Dare"..and a "Those magnificent men in their flying machines".......excellent punter fodder for the PE regulars! (both BOT ("bang on topic") seeing as Ron Goodwin did them both!)

Brilliant series and ideally matched music.
I hear a second film is likely.

Das Boot
An epic film - I have the Directors Cut - the ending was so short considering everything they went through.

Thomas Dobly....guess who he did a bit of producing for......yes Prefab Sprout on "From Langley Park to Memphis"

In true FCF fashion however he had nowt to do with this particular track on the album. I like this 12 inch Vinyl 45 RPM and a proper turntable and no literal "Pans People-esque" cavorting on the vid to distract.
