Ok, so you are replacing the same unit so have you VIN coded the unit to the BSI? There should not be anything else to do as they are the same units. Don't be tempted to enable any additional options that are there as they won't be relevant to your car and may not mean what you think they do. This can have an adverse effect on the vehicle. Also you should always write down what values are there already - just in case.

Is it damaged, or is this unit from some other model??

Yes it looks like the dial is broken off or missing for a start - you may have been sold a bad replacement that also isn't working...

There's nothing else to code apart from the VIN, as there are no differences in the units.

Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate it. done vin code to stop beeping. additional settings are on/off as per equipment present. I hadn't noticed the central dial until it arrived. Was sold as same C5 year and model. Navigation position, front/rear sensors, radio working. I just can't select menu items. i.e. change time. On the head unit there's up down left and write keys. When I press the down key, rather than moving down one, it jumps a page. If I can get it to move one by one the whole system will work fine. Can lexia change it?

Unfortunately not, all Diagbox will do is connect to the RNEG ECU and allow you to perform some actuator tests on the buttons.

First of all, I would see what the errors (if any) are - run a global test and see what errors are coming up and list the codes here if poss. Then read and clear the faults an re-run a global test again. What faults remain?

If there is nothing obvious, select the telematics or Audio / RNEG ECU and run the standard parameter measurements - this should allow you to press the controls and see what is and is not registering.

After searching for images of the new head unit ive discovered its used in Citroen c8.
http://www.ewallpapers.eu/63294-citroen-c8.html

The central dial has been removed and replaced by a larger remote on the central console.
Id guess my only option is to try to sell this one and pay more attention finding a replacement. Don't have a clue on how to fit the remote or if it's even possible.
Thanks for all your help.

Right - must of been a late C8 as MyWay didn't come into being until 2009. The C5 X7 is a full CAN vehicle, the C8 was available in both VAN-CAN and Full CAN -
so maybe it isn't fully compatible. I must admit I don't ever recall the C8 getting MyWay - I only remember it having RT3 / 4/5 telematics systems....

@vborovic: How did you do the wiring for the RT6 Display (12 pin) when the previous system had only 4 wires (6 pin) Display?
Is there a diagram for wiring, as no pictures for this are available anymore...

Tnx!

Vborovic is no longer a member of the forum. However, to answer your question the RT6 unit requires the DG4 hi res display and the appropriate LVDS cable that connects the display and ECU to the RT6.

@GiveMeABreak

Do you by chance know the pinout of the brown connector (6 pin) which goes to the RT6 screen?

I only figured it partly:
1- Power +12v
2- Back-light Regulation
3- Ground
4- ?
5- ?
6- ?

Thanks!

I've just realised you have a Peugeot 307. I don't have access to Peugeot wiring unfortunately and the additional thing is that the RT6 was never fitted to this model. The first 3 pin settings are correct that you have identified, however, I think that the other 3 pin outs will be related to the retractable display screen that was fitted on later models and is likely to control the following:

Opening of the retractable screen when the ignition is switched on
Closing of the retractable screen when the ignition is switched off
Retractable screen position information

I don't have the diagrams, but if you are fitting this to a static display screen, then these other 3 pins may not be used - which is what they are in the C5 X7 - unused.

Yes, I'm replacing my RT3 in 307 and it's already verified to work on french forum (only on 307 facelift and CAN2004 RT6). I also bought RT6 on that forum. I'm asking because guy sent me quadlock with cinch audio/video input and one wire goes to the brown connector of the screen, and I'm wondering is that correct because some says that RT6 does not support this. Maybe you can check some Peugeot? Like 807 or 407, if you have access of course.

Are you referring to the brightness adjustment cable between the Rt6 and the screen?

Check the diagram on this website: http://rt4.wikidot.com/pinouts

The diagram is for a RT4 but I think the screen wiring is the same for the low res and high res screens.
