Well. it's beyond me, these diagrams just do not match up to your car - no matter what configuration I use. On one it shows 8499 : external audio input block - but no bloody cables from the USB!:

84B4 : portable multimedia unit ?
84C4 : independent telematic unit ?
Vlad USB.PNG
On another diagram, the telematic option shows a USB on the front central console and connected to Audio unit - so that can't be it.

The other problem I have is the with / without services module - your specs don't say - but from the photo I can see you have the SOS and Service buttons (I assume these work). So the diagrams DO NOT match your car.

So whether trying to connect the usb directly to the RT6 and trying to play an MP3 might determine if it works???

But how to connect it? From the hand rest USB port the harness shall go to Part C from the big connector from unit, perhaps? I have already tried to insert a usb stick into USB port and it is not recognized by Rt6. I was thinking to connect the wires from part C with the usb dedicated connector from doner, wire to wire....but how? ...... so so strange.... but before with my old rd4 everything went perfect with usb.

I can't tell how your old one is wired up, because as you can see above there are NO WIRES from 8499.

You need to activate USB from media source from the RT6 menu first - but I'm not sure it would read plugging in directly - but try and see if the option is there in the menu.

There is no option in Diagbox on rt6 for usb. And in the user menu, I can rotate the joystick just on BT Streaming.

That's ok, I didn't mean Diagbox for the USB - just in the RT6 menu. Do you need an RT6 manual?

The RD4 with USB used the "nomad" box that sits in place of a CD changer does it not?

Only the RD45 and RD43 have native USB ports on the back.

Yes you are right EDC5. So my old RD4 N2 had usb on the hand rest. But I don’t know if this is only a USB port or a full box there. An important thing would be to use my old USB port for this RT6, even if I cut some wires from PART C connector from unit and link them with the connector from RT6. But I don’t know how.

Marc, I need a manual for it...and also, can you please tell how can I activate the extended menu for it? Thanks a lot!

I'll send the user manual via email.
I would get the USB connected up first - but you may need to configure the unit via Mirascripts to get it working.

When you have got everything else working / (did you test parking sensors yet for audio and display on screen?), I suggest you look at that later once you have USB wired in - so not to introduce any more issues yet.

Re the USB box - that could be the key (Da Iawn Elis :-D ) - Vlad should have a nomad box, independent telematics and the hands free kit - so if you and EDC5 can compare notes as you had similar systems that would help.

When all this is finished, we'll have to put together a proper guide!

So Marc, I have tested from the beginning the parking sensors and they are working perfectly, front and rear, sound and image on screen. But not valued in cm, just lines, in different colors.

Regarding the usb, it is probable that I have a usb box but I don’t know if I can connect this to the rt6. Maybe one key would be to use a simple USB port and link it to the connector from doner and plug it in into the rt6. And forget about the usb from hand rest..........this would be ugly but......could work :-(

Is the Nomad USB box even compatible with the RT6?

I do not know even what is Nomad USB Box. But if this is what I have, then the answer is probably no.

This is what I mean - there are just so many combinations of kit - and different versions too!
I forgot to send the manual - will do it now.

With the USB kit - some have a USB only, some have a USB and a Jack, some have USB, Jack and Bluetooth. That;s without the Auxiliary inputs that can be audio or audio visual too.

Hmm, so are there many types of Nomad Box?

Vlad: have you got the Bluetooth steaming working? If so does it display the song name and artist?

Also does the RT6 have a SD card slot for playing music?

No external SD card on RT6 Elis. There are internal SD cards / Flash memory to hold the maps and data. Earlier ones had 8 Gb, later ones 16Gb I think.

I see, so how do you play MP3's on it with no SD or USB?

Or do you mean there is a physical SD card slot just on the inside?
