Poll......what car clubs are you part of.

Post by Stickyfinger »

So, straw poll

1/ What car clubs are you in ?
2/ What Car forums are you a member of
3/ What FaceBook groups are you a part of

4/ Which format of Car "membership" offers the most to your every day driving life
(as in, what choice of the above is most beneficial, such as technical support, parts re-manufacture, events, insurance discounts, friendships etc)

1. CCC (until expiry)
2. FCF only. Not got the mental energy/time/patience for any others.
3. Xantia Activa FB group. I read it but hardly ever contribute to it.
4. Again, forums for me for the reasons you state Alasdair ;)

Ditto :) I'm very much read-only on that one though... I do know of at least one other member of this forum who also is a member of that forum ;)

Same here Peter! I thought, after practising the art for over 40 years that I knew my radio and electronics rather well but l know nothing!!!

There's some very bright and exceedingly knowledgeable people on there but by golly, they're as dry as dust and hardly the life and soul of the party..

It's sad the Vintage Radio Forum completely lacks any social side and off-topic chat as this forum so positively encourages... It does severely limit the fun and entertainment value of the forum. For me it's just too serious most of the time. A place for information but much less a place to enjoy. I think it's fair to say it is the polar opposite of this very forum...

I do enjoy the vintage telly area though - the very best part of it :) I know really well, as you do, many of the tellies they speak of and some of the restorations they do are truly awesome... That area reminds me of some very happy times spent fixing them for real rather than just a pastime.

3) Absolutely none; I don't do social networking, period.
