And not only that, it gives me a yearning for a plate of proper old-fashioned fish and chips from a proper old-fashioned chippie...

There are, to my mind, few things that are more satisfying than a decent plate of proper 'chippie' chips. Thick as your thumb, beautiful golden yellow, steamy warm smell, and (for me) salt and vinegar. YUM!!! I don't go for the fish though, as I once had a problem with some bones. That put me off somewhat.

I nearly succumbed to this temptation last week when Elma and I went out for a meal. In the end I had a lovely piece of salmon

I on the other hand had the battered option with chips. It was really good too. I'm am oddball with fish, I can only manage chip shop fish, fish fingers, tinned tuna and muscles. Anything else triggers my stomach jettison valve within 5 seconds of going into my mouth. I try "proper" fish occasionally but I've been wired up like this all my life and don't seem to be changing.

Oh, I DO understand. Chips put on weight around your midriff, while fish gets the weight onto the biceps (and so on). If I were to hide behind a rake 99.995% would protrude, while when you hide behind the same rake it turns around to see where you went! I just like the taste of properly done chips!

Indeed, I have to run around in a shower to get wet and can dodge rainstorms the same way!

Oh yes, everyone loves the taste of a well-cooked chunky chip and I'm no exception at all One is wonderful for me but two is too many

Oh, so that explains the terrible rain that has been happening sporadically. Somebody upstairs is taking pot shots (with water bombs) at you, and is getting frustrated at constantly missing! Please avoid visiting the Somerset Levels this winter, as I don't think they could stand another prolonged wet spell!
